Zanpakutō

Name: Zetsumei
Spirit's Appearence: A dark shadow that often takes the form of an old man. The man has dark ragged hair and a rough beard. There are very few features to be discerned, as the spirit is shadow and moves around alot, causing a sort of trail, or is entirley invisible.
Spirit's Personality: The spirit is calm on the most part. He isn't one to miss even a pin drop, even during the heat of battle. He will take quite some persuading to fight properly and loves to make fun of his enemies.

Name: Boushi
Spirit's Appearence: Boushi is a small child, who often wears a mask and dark clothes.
Spirit's Personality: The spirit is very secretive, and gets angered easily. She looks up to Zetsumei as a father and often hides behind his shadow cloak when summoned by Shikyo. Boushi is also an expert martial artist.

Shikai:

Appearence: The sword becomes two, both with slightly curved, black blades.
Description:
The left Sword: Boushi is able to absorb attacks such as cero, kido ect. It also directs this ability to Shikyo's hands in it's sealed state. It gives Shikyo incredible speed, that surpasses shunpo.

The Right Sword: Zetsumei is the lord of shadows.

Abilities:

Name: Shirudo
Description: The ability allows Shikyo to absorb attacks. Cero, up to 7th espada level, and kido up to no. 65. This is also transferred to zanpaktou and other weapons as they are formed of spirit particles.

Name: Kumori
Description: This fills the area with shadows making everything dark, Shikyo can then slip into the shadows, making him able to go unseen, only noticable by tracking his rietsu, he can also use the shadows as a form on 'teleportation device', where he can appear anywhere where the shadows touch. The 'teleportaion' can only be used once every 3 posts. This also increases the power of all his attacks, such as now Gosunkugi forms a complete sphere around the target.
Scalable - Captain+/espada ~ Bankai ability can destroy, or 3-4 lv75 kido.
Lieutenant/arrancar ~ 5-6 kido lv55+
Seated Officer ~ 6-7 lv 40+ Kido

Name: Gosunkugi
Description: Shadow spikes appear all around the target, and impale the target. They appear in the blink of an eye which makes it very hard to escape.

Bankai:
Command: Boushi Zetsumei Tentei
Appearence: The swords appear the same but now radiate a black shadow like mist.
Description: The bankai is obviously far more powerful than the shikai and so increases the power of all attacks.

Abilities:
Name: Sokuryokudo
Description: This ability is a passive ability and increases speed to that which it greatly surpasses shunpo. (Released only)

Name: Shirudo

Name: Gosunkugi
Description: Shadow spikes appear all around the target, and impale the target. They appear in the blink of an eye which makes it very hard to escape. These spikes can now be controlled by the movement of Shikyo's hand's if they do happen to miss. The can also be shot from the ground.

Name: Kusari
Description: This allows Shikyo to shoot huge beams of shadow from his sword, much like a cero, it can be used immediate but is only three inches thick. If hit full on, it will instantly kill, but this is very rare as it can only travel in a straight line. This ability can be charged for up to 7 posts, reaching a maximum radius of 20ft after 7 posts.

Name: Gaidoku
Description: If you are struck with shikyo swords, a shadow poison will infect the enemy, attacking the nervous system and slowing movement greatly.

Name: Shihai
Description: This can only be used if Shikyo is on the brink of death of unconscious. And the target is infected by Gaidoku. It is a last defence where Shikyo can temporarily negate the enemies senses (ie. Make them blind, deaf, and unable to feel) It is used to buy time, so that he is able to recover enough to fight again or be saved by another person. Only one sense can be nullified at a time.

Name: Uwabyoushi
Description: The shadows form an impenetrable wall infront of Shikyo, blocking one or more attacks depending on their strangth.

Name: Shakkahō ~ Shot of Red Fire
Number: 31
Description: Fires a red enegry ball at the target.
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Inferno and pandemonium, the sea barrier surges, march on to the south!"

Name: Sōkatsui ~ Blue Fire, Crash Down
Number: 33
Description: Fires a burst of blue spiritual energy at a target in a similar manner to #31, but over a wider area and with more power.
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of flesh and bone, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! Truth and temperance, upon this sinless wall of dreams unleash but slightly the wrath of your claws."

Name: Haien ~ Abolishing Flame

Description: Fires a blast of purple spiritual energy that will incinerate a target completely when it makes contact.

Name: Sōren Sōkatsui ~ Twin Lotus Blue Fire, Crash Down

Description: Essentially a doubled version of #33, this spell fires two shots of blue fire with greater potency than the single-shot variety.
Incantation: "Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens."

Description: Creates an energy barrier in the form of a rectangular wall. It is capable of stopping destructive spells up to #89. This is seen also when Aizen uses it to block Tessai's Hadō #88.

Description: Forms a box of black energy around a target, which is then pierced by dozens of energy "spears," lacerating the one inside from head to toe. Its appearance and function is reminiscent of a common magician's trick, as well as certain torture devices used during the Spanish Inquisition. The spell is very difficult to use, as even Aizen could only unleash a third of its power without stating the particular incantation, when he used it on Sajin Komamura.

Name: Kin ~ Seal Part 1
Number: 99
Description: Ties the target's arms on the back in addition to wrapping the spiritual fabric around the entire body, and continues to pin the target with spiritual fabric stacked to the ground around the target with several iron shafts in an "X" shape. This technique can be used to a lesser degree, as Tessai used it on Ichigo to not pin him down on the ground, but simply bind his arms to his back with the spiritual fabric and iron shafts.

Name: Bankin ~ Great Seal Part 2
Number: 99
Description: This spell covers the target from head to toe with spiritual fabric (First Song), stabs them with numerous metal bolts (Second Song), and then smashes them with an immense metal cube (Final Song). The full power of the seal is still unknown as Ichigo broke the first two seals before the metal cube landed on him during his Shattered Shaft training.
Incantation: First Song: Halting Fabric.
Second Song: Hundred Linked Bolts.
Final Song: Great Seal of 10,000 Forbiddings.

History:

Shikyo used to carry around a small wooden sword with him from the age 2. He lived in one of the poorest regions of West Rukongi, and had to resort to theft for food, there was no other way, or else he would die. Many of the shop keepers would let him steal their food, leaving it purposely exposed and wouldn't chase after him, because they felt sorry for him.

He was very skilled swordsman, for a six year old at least anyway. He had made a few friends, also very poor and wandering the streets, like him. It was ironically his seventh birthday, the day of the entrance exams that was. He left and waved good bye to his friends at the gate.

He did well in the exam, and ended up in the top class at the shinigami academy.

It was in his fourth year that he was approached by a tall man, who wore a pink kimono. He was the captain of the 7th squad, Shunsui Kyouraku, and he was there with an offer. He requested that from now on, Shikyo was to be trained by him directly, until he was old enough to join the Gotei 13.

The training seemed constant, but it flew by, and before he knew it he was in the 7th squad.

When Shikyo turned 16, he became the 3rd seat of the 7th squad. And before long was invited to become the lieutenant of the 13th squad. It was during his time as the lieutenant , that Shikyo unlocked bankai, and roughly the same time a captain spot opened up. He decided to give it ago, and went for the captain trials.

He did well, but lost the position to another. So once again he was stuck as lieutenant under Ukitake.

It was 20 soul society years later that the position opened up again. Now, much more powerful, he went for the captains trials again.

This time he was accepted and so became a captain. He was a captain for well over a three hundred years before it happened.

He never talks about why he left soul society, the only other man to know was Captain Commander Yamamoto. And if ever brought up he would quickly change the subject, sometimes with the added words, 'he was one of the best captains we've ever had.'

Shikyo then settled down in the human world, in a place called Karakura Town, after trekking the world. He became good friends with a man named Uruhara Kisuke. This brings us roughly to the present.


Personality:
Shikyo is a kind man, most of the time. He is rather lazy and calm and rarely puts in his full effort. He is inteligent, but not to that of a man like Kisuke or Kurotsuchi.

Shikai:

Name: Feizu
Description: Shikyo melts into the shadows, becoming unnoticeable, he cannot melt into the shadow of a person but can then transfer into a persons shadow if it touches the shadow he currently exists within. This shadow then becomes a form of portal allowing Shikyo to enter it whenever he requires.

Name: Feizu Ni
Description: Shikyo can manipulate the shadow he is currently within.

Name: Touben
Description: This is a very defensive technique aimed at saving allies. Shikyo can pull his allie into their own shadow. Then, they are transported to where Shikyo currently is, giving them a head start in retreat.
