Spirit's Personality: His personality is much like that of Byakuya's, then again, aren't all Zanpaktou. However, he has shown a light side, he has been drunk on several occasions, something that Byakuya would never do. He is also very impatient, and has been known to have occasional emotional outbursts.

Command: Scatter Senbonzakura
Appearence: The sword 'disintegrates' into small pink cherry blossoms, leaving only the hilt.
Description: These cherry blossoms are actually incredibly sharp blades, each one controllable by Byakuya's mind. Using his hands to direct them also with vastly increase the speed to the point where they can match that of Ichigo Kurosaki's Bankai.

Appearence/Description: First Byakuya 'drops' his sword into the ground, then several larger swords raise from the ground behind him, these swords then 'scatter' into the same blades as in his shikai, however now, there are far far more.

Name: Senkei ~ Massacre Scene
Description: The petals come together to for hundreds of swords that line the walls. Each sword, like the petals, can be controlled by Byakuya.

Name: Gōkei ~ Pivotal Scene
Description: This, makes the blades form a sphere around Byakuya's enemy. Which then collapse around them, the spere is perfect and leaves no escape.

Name: Shūkei ~ Final Scene
Description: Every single blade condenses into one, forming a sword, know as the "White Emperor Sword". It glows bright white and takes the form of a bird. Byakuya also grows wing and a halo like object, created with rietsu.

Description: Forms a box of black energy around a target, which is then pierced by dozens of energy "spears," lacerating the one inside from head to toe. Its appearance and function is reminiscent of a common magician's trick, as well as certain torture devices used during the Spanish Inquisition. The spell is very difficult to use, as even Aizen could only unleash a third of its power without stating the particular incantation, when he used it on Sajin Komamura.

Description: Summons several spears of light that are all fired towards the same focal point where the intended target resides. The culminating explosion is exceedingly devastating.
Incantation: "Limit of the thousands hands, respectful hands, unable to touch the darkness. Shooting hands unable to reflect the blue sky. The road that basks in light, the wind that ignited the embers, time that gathers when both are together, there is no need to be hesitant, obey my orders. Light bullets, eight bodies, nine items, book of heaven, diseased treasure, great wheel, grey fortress tower. Aim far away, scatter brightly and cleanly when fired"

History:
Little is known about Byakuya's early history. When his grandfather, Ginrei Kuchiki, was still the captain of the 6th Division, Byakuya was preparing to take over leadership of the clan, although his grandfather was worried about his rash and hotheaded attitude. During this time Yoruichi Shihouin would play pranks on him and goad him into games of tag using flash steps, which she won every time.

Around 55 years before the main Bleach storyline, Byakuya married Hisana, who was then a commoner from Inuzuri, one of the poorest districts of Rukongai; therefore, he broke the rules by accepting her into the noble Kuchiki family. Shortly before her death from illness, Hisana asked Byakuya to find, adopt, and protect her biological sister, Rukia, whom she had abandoned as a baby. She also made him promise that he would not tell Rukia about her real family, for she believed that by abandoning Rukia when she was younger she was not worthy to be called Rukia's sister.

One year later, during Rukia's time at the academy, Byakuya found her and immediately adopted her into the Kuchiki clan. By adopting her, Byakuya respected his wife's last wish, but had broken the rules of his clan again. He later swore upon his parents' graves that he would never break the rules again, no matter what. As a result, he, though entirely apathetic on the surface, is actually deeply conflicted with the matter of Rukia's execution. Should he intervene, it would require breaking the promise to his parents and the rules again; but should he do nothing he would fail to fulfill the last promise he made to his dying wife to protect Rukia as his own sister.

It is implied that Byakuya Kuchiki became captain of the 6th division about 50 years before the main Bleach storyline (shortly before Rukia had entered the Gotei 13). Gin Ichimaru became captain of the 3rd Division at the same time, and Gin would commonly start pointless conversations with Byakuya during times they crossed paths.

Personality: He likes cherry blossoms, night time walks, calligraphy and spicy food. He dislikes pickles and potatoes. He believes strongly in law and order. He is cold, however, he will protect those close to him.
